The Great Deciever
One of our esteemed Bishops said in a newspaper interview recently the following things...
"Faith is not to know, faith is to trust. "
Need i say more?
What is it about people and computers anyway?
Computers in their essence are extremely complicated machinery, so im not really surprised anymore about the general lack of computer skills in people. It used to bother me immensely, but over the years i have come to realise the futility of trying to explain to people how to work a computer. in my opinion people should get a license to be able to use a computer.
Experience has shown me that 95% of all problems related to computer failures are related to the users and their lack of understanding.
Software manufactures are not making things any easier though, by making their software more bloated at each version upgrade. And also its funny to see how much effect a antivirus program has on a clean system. we are taking about around 60 to 100mb of memory used for the antivirus program and their related services. that can be enough to reduce the performance on any PC for about 15% and even more in some cases.
Also annoying is the habit of many programs to load up a task at startup that they say is to make the program faster to load....well duh. when you got over 10 programs that have this annoying habit its no surprise that the programs are slow to load anyway.
I always delete those task and that has never caused me any problems.
stupid!
